Sinners is an undisputed box office success and now, just two weeks after it was pushed into second place because of a brand-new Marvel blockbuster, it's back on top in the number one spot. Sinners was #1 at the domestic box office for two full weeks, but when Marvel's Thunderbolts - the first true team-up movie since Avengers: Endgame - came out at the start of the month and knocked Sinners off the top spot on the podium, it stayed at #2 for another two weeks.

According to data from Exhibitor Relations, Sinners retook the #1 spot at the U.S. box office on Thursday, May 15, 2025, bringing in $2.2 million, whereas Thunderbolts brought in $2 million. This was a $400k drop for Thunderbolts day-over-day; however, Sinners maintained its $2.2mm from Wednesday. In total, Sinners has earned approximately $225 million domestically - an astronomical amount for an R-rated original story, especially a period piece that mixes in supernatural elements.
