
Qatar’s Doha Film Festival launches with over $300,000 in competition prize money

The Doha Film Institute’s inaugural Doha Film Festival (Dff) will run from November 20-28 this year, with over $300,000 of prize money on offer across four competition strands.
Announced today (May 17) in Cannes, the festival’s four competitive strands will be: International Feature Film Competition, showcasing new works by emerging and established filmmakers from around the world; International Shot Film Competition; Ajyal Film Competition, judged by the festival’s youth jury; and the Made in Qatar Competition, for filmmakers based in Qatar.
The festival will also feature industry sessions, community screenings with a dedicated youth programme, and additional film events.
