Love Death Robots: The ‘Ice’ Universe Expands In Vol. 4’s ‘400 Boys’

Love, Death & Robots returns with a fresh new volume, with ten animated bite-sized science-fiction shorts that, conceptually and by technique, supersede practically any contemporary work in science fiction. Created by Tim Miller and produced by David Fincher, the series first debuted in 2019 and grew a cult following over its following seasons. It has been exploring its titular theme of cerebral emotions, existential dystopia, and artificial intelligence in ways that have never been done before in visual media. While each season and each episode brings forth a unique concept, the series has a thematic resonance that places the individual episodes on a large dystopian landscape that may soon merge with reality. Besides its highly conceptual world-building and sci-fi rationales, each episode looks like a piece of art drawn in distinct art styles and sometimes resonates with a style, a world, or a concept previously seen in an episode.
