The 'Cosmo Jarvis being sent back in time to play historical figures' TV and film universe continues to expand as the Shogun star is set to play one of history's most infamous dictators in his next project. After the phenomenal success of FX's Shogun, and coming off the back of A24's Warfare, things are continuing to look up for the British actor. So, what's next for Cosmo Jarvis? A major blockbuster? Another action/historical drama? Nope. Cosmo Jarvis will play a young Joseph Stalin on the big screen in Young Stalin (which has nothing to do with Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein).

Per Variety, the new movie is being directed by Georgian-French filmmaker, Géla Babluani (Money). Cosmo Jarvis has officially been cast as Joseph Stalin, and the movie will follow the dictator's younger years before becoming a political leader. Young Stalin is based on the novel of the same name by Simon Sebag Montefiore.
