Box-Office Weekend: Bloodlines Douses Marvel

A new film took control of the box-office weekend as Final Destination: Bloodlines unseated the incumbent Thunderbolts* by a margin of $34.5 million.

In its first weekend of release, Final Destination: Bloodlines made $51.0 million for Warner Bros., allowing the film to easily take control of the weekend box-office. In a distant second-place, with $16.5 million, was last weekend’s top film, the Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures product Thunderbolts*. Still, the film boasts a three-week total of $155.4 million so all is not lost. Meanwhile, Warner Bros. also saw Sinners drop from second to third this weekend where it added $15.4 million, raising its five-week total to $240.8 million for the studio. That same studio enjoyed a fourth-place finish from A Minecraft Movie with $5.9 million. Even though the film dropped a spot from last weekend, it still sports a seven-week total of $416.6 million.
