French filmmaker Julia Ducournau returns to the Cannes Film Festival with “Alpha,” a new disaster film that is in competition today, as the project’s distributor Neon has sent over a teaser trailer that we can share.
“Alpha,” coming to theaters this October, focuses on a young girl played by Golshifteh Farahani, who is enduring events surrounding a global disaster as she returns home to her single mother, and the film explores what happens next once that new reality sinks in.
