Before he was the eerie voice of Final Destination’s coroner, Tony Todd was already deep in horror legend status thanks to a scene that most actors today wouldn’t dare replicate. 33 years ago in Candyman, the late actor actually let real bees crawl around in his mouth for that infamous $25M flick. No CGI. No fancy tricks.

And now, with Final Destination: Bloodlines bringing him back into the genre limelight one last time, it’s crazy to think his horror royalty title was sealed with wings and stingers.

33 years before Final Destination: Bloodlines, Tony Todd pulled off one of horror’s most legendary flexes by letting real bees crawl out of his mouth in Candyman.

That 1992 scene where Candyman bares his ribcage of bees and kisses Helen was totally real.
