Xbox Game Pass Elder Scrolls competitor Avowed recently dropped on the subscription service and was subject to widespread acclaim, which made us think that maybe nothing out of the ordinary would happen. But in a sitcom-like turn of events, something out of the ordinary did happen, and Netflix is seemingly the culprit.

The director of the game has left Obsidian after more than a decade to join a Netflix-owned game studio, which is a real head-scratcher when you think about it. Netflix hasn’t been the biggest player in the video game industry, but with this news, it does seem like they’re gearing up for something big. Only time will tell if it’s a boon or a curse.
