After 2 Theatrical Hits, Josh Hartnett's Renaissance Continues With Netflix Series Role

Josh Hartnett has been working steadily over the last two decades, but he had taken smaller roles. Not anymore, as the actor is experiencing a new career renaissance after his appearance in 2023's Oppenheimer.
After two recent hits, Hartnett has just scored a brand-new role. The actor recently appeared in M. Night Shyamalan's Trap and the John Wick-esque indie action film Fight or Flight. Now, he has scored the lead role in Netflix's untitled Newfoundland limited series, per Deadline.
The series had been announced in late February, with creator Jesse McKeown attached to the project. The miniseries will consist of six episodes, set and shot in the Canadian province of Newfoundland.
The untitled series follows a mysterious sea creature that terrorizes a remote Newfoundland town. A hard-bitten fisherman (played by Hartnett) must fight to protect his family, his community, and his vanishing way of life.
