I love Agatha Christie, especially her Poirot and And then there were none. This is neither. I've not read the book so I can't say how good an adaptation this is however there was no need for the depressed detective or the lawyers ward or the pleasure hotel.
A weird confusing plot with characters doing things that don't make sense just to move the story forward, no suspense was built at all, and poorly acted in some areas but I can't tell if that's just bad writing rather than bad acting. I love Matthew Rhys, he's a solid actor with an incredible voice but his mopey, drifting off character just wasn't what this needed at all.
The world is in desperate need of more Christie like the ones mentioned above but this is not it.
