Some good and bad
There's no real continuity with Hope. I think that Lizzie forgiving her was rushed, among other things, but this lack of continuity seems to be only an issue with Hope's character. The writing for her in particular slacks, but it seems they're making surface level efforts to improve. I just only wish she'd earn it the way a main character is supposed to, because this feels a little one-dimensional.
That's not the case with everyone else, however. I'm so pleased with the material for every other character, and I'm so happy to see MG find a true friend in Ethan. There were also some nice scenes between Josie and Alaric. Nice stuff.
I wonder if we can shift away from this stale malivore plot sometime soon, possibly in S4, and focus on the other main characters instead. Their plots, material, and overall development and writing are superior to what's going on with Hope and Landon. It'd do the show well to focus on them.
