Composer, arranger and pianist, educated at the Los Angeles Conservatory, and a music student of Vernon Spencer, Oscar Wagner, and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. He was a pianist and arranger in the bands of Jack Teagarden and Tommy Dorsey plus others, and during World War II he was a pianist and arranger for the band at at Lowry Field Air Force Base. Joining ASCAP in 1960, his popular-instrumental compositions include "Hughes Fugue".- Writer
