- Rocher has been taken off duty. To get his job back at the criminal police division, he has to undergo a psychiatric assessment. When he goes for his first consultation, it takes him a while to realize that the woman who welcomes him is a fraud. Unmasked, the fake therapist tries to escape, but Rocher catches her. Before he can even question her, a horrible murder happens right before their eyes. The ousted police chief and the mysterious woman he has just met have to team up to investigate, and their collaboration is going to make sparks fly. But the resolution of this daunting, borderline investigation will depend upon their ability to work together.
- Rocher is surprised to see Elisa Bergman show up on the scene of the crime. The young woman was hired as a criminologist at the 3rd Division of the Paris criminal police by Chief Commissioner Lamarck. Her first official investigation is on the death of a single mother brutally murdered while her seven year-old son was in the next room. While on this especially sensitive case, Elisa is going to have to work hard to prove herself and be accepted by the team at the criminal police division. That challenge gets even tougher when Rocher starts having doubts about her and her activities while off-duty. Soon, all of Elisa's secrets could be brought out in the open.
- To avoid prison, Elisa Bergman has no choice but to work for the criminal police, but she is determined to do anything necessary to get herself out of that situation. She even gets in touch with a former member of the team, who makes a big comeback. But he doesn't help much, because the 3rd division has to investigate a new and especially hideous murder: a young woman who suffocated to death after getting her mouth stapled shut. Elisa considers the powerful symbolism of that act. Did the victim know some truth that someone wanted to keep her from revealing? Following that lead, Elisa and Rocher dig up an old case where justice failed and a monstrous criminal was left to run free.
- When a young boy is reported missing, the entire criminal police division is on alert. The last location where the child was seen is at the edge of a forest. The team ventures in to try to find him. While separated from the others, Elisa witnesses strange phenomena happening in those woods. They seem to be harboring mysterious and terrifying beings. If they hope to find the missing boy, Rocher and his team will have to unravel the secret mystery of the forest. But one of the team won't make it out unharmed.

And the stakes get even higher: the killer's next target is someone very close to the team.
- Elisa and her daughter are woken up on Christmas morning by a police raid: the anti-gang unit is looking for Roman, who has been accused of holding up an armored police vehicle and shooting a cop. Elisa refuses to believe that the man she loves could be guilty, but a mountain of evidence is building up against him. She turns to Rocher and the team to try and figure out what happened. They uncover a vicious Machiavellian scheme that puts all of our heroes in danger.
- It's almost Christmas. Elisa and her family have just bought a Christmas tree, when suddenly they witness an assault: a man disguised as Santa Claus has attacked a man on the street. The victim collapses in the crowd as the assailant escapes. Rocher is immediately informed and takes on the case. The victim was apparently poisoned with a particularly toxic product and his days are numbered. The team at the criminal police division is confronted with a totally new kind of case: an investigation into the murder of a victim who is still alive.
- A brilliant Parisian bachelor lawyer is murdered. He was fired weeks earlier for atypically deserting his job after failing to save a young client. The team works out the case turns around a baby boy's abduction and multiple identity thefts committed by an illusive crook, whose latest 'father' even falsely confesses the murder to save him, but might still be caught for an earlier murder.
- Selfmade Paris art dealer Vincent's second wife Juliette is fatally stabbed by their lush villa's pool. He left his first wife and their adolescent son Anthony for Juliette, who apparently had an affair. She was recently contacted by her destitute junkie father. Vincent, whose corpse is soon found in an abandoned stolen car, ran the firm with his poorly paid cousin Blondeau and a devote secretary. He fenced and laundered for mobster Igor Dimitrova, but a bag of cash from their deals went missing. The tax services received an anonymous denunciation letter.
- Parisian Vautier mobilizes Matthieu Pérac's team to look for his teenage daughter Laura, which he reported missing months ago. When interviewed the right way, sole school friend Amandine Verganti reveals how class bitches cruelly set shy Laura up with a fictitious date. After the trails from there to an ex-con pedophile and mythomaniac music teacher as well as art teacher Catherine Delage run dead, the father admits having faked an anonymous letter. The team reevaluates a suspect and comes up with another theory, based on a twist after a much earlier, never solved abduction.
- Parisian criminal police commissioner Matthieu Pérac is not amused when his captain adds to his team on six months 'trial' criminology teacher Chloé Saint-Laurent, who ignores all police work, procedure and sensibilities. The first case with her is a murdered babysitter, who actually stole identities serially. Crucial proves her own frustrated biological identity and dysfunctional family, foster system children may be at risk.
- A well-loved activist is found dead after a fire in a cheap hotel. Matthew has trouble managing Chloe's missteps in this case, where private and public life are closely intertwined.
- Rising physician Thomas Cavellian is poisoned at the hospital where his impossible to please bully father Robert is chief of staff. Similar poisoned chocolates are intercepted before Robert falls victim too. The team works out that the doctors were transgressing ethically in a cancer therapy testing program.
- In a container on the Paris docks, worked by the very crew where Matthieu once worked as summer long, is found the facially defiled corpse of Raphaël Mirmont, who resigned there a month earlier. Raphael was raised by his father Jacques in permanent veneration of his late perfect mother, but he recently discovered she lives but abandoned them at birth for a career. devilishly handsome Raphael had a new fiancée almost every week, but was serious only about the latest, Noémie Bertrand, to whose brother Guillaume he became a big brother during frequent visits, yet missed the last date.
- A young woman in a purple dress and black wig is found strangled in a park without ID. The brigade arrests Enzo, a homeless man running away with her handbag, where there is nothing to identify her. The coroner finds multiple scars on her face from cosmetic surgery and implants that lead to the surgeon who operated on her. Christelle had suffered a car accident which had completely disfigured her and led to divorce from her husband. The PJ wonders whether there were other casualties and if anyone would want revenge. Delphine continues lying to Mathieu.
- Single teacher Natalie was knocked death and dragged into the girls boarding school afterward. She was just denied the right to adopt, but also pregnant, both of which she kept secret. The team finds that she signed up for in vitro fertilization with a gay, steady-partnered bogus 'fiancé', but also that the clinic's sperm samples were doctored. Pursuing suspect Afghan refugee Hamid Darya, who falls to his death, sees Matthieu suspended by IA, yet he won't really step back and let fellow detective Louis Meyer take charge of the search for the mastermind of many more paternity theft cases.
- Popular Aurelia Valencourt's skull was smashed after a neighborhood party. She has started a crazy life of street crime after receiving a terminal diagnosis, which she hid for her workaholic husband Nicolas, who still found out. Their daughter Inez's suspiciously devoted babysitter is obsessed with the family, which soon faces another crime. Meanwhile Mathieu pulls strings to learn Chloé's true identity.
- While Delphine leaves for a business trip, leaving Matthieu and Emma alone, the commandant receives notice of the murder of Maryline Hardouin, 22, a waitress and actress, in an 18th century castle, during the filming of a series, in which she participated two months before with a small role. After claiming the check for her performance, she was hit on the head, and bled to death on a bed as the killer watched her death. According to the producer of the series, she was very ambitious, but not able to withstand the pressure of filming. A train ticket to Montpellier in her pocket indicates that she wanted to get away from her current life. During the investigation, Matthieu gets a call from the hospital because Emma needs an emergency operation.
- In a Paris crematorium, a woman's corpse is discovered 'smuggled' in another coffin while already being incinerated, but dental records still allow identification. She had neglected follow-up treatment after receiving a kidney six months ago, which has been cut out again recently. She had an affair with surgeon Dr. Jost and her transplant list data were doctored, but not just by him, and another crime follows.
- Thailand tsunami surviver Stephanie Lavaudant was killed. Her complicate delusions focus on her surviving husband Christophe. Matthieu makes a first move to reconciliation with his wife. Chloe however can't handle discovering that her 'stalker', Louise Drancourt, is a half-sister from father's side.
- After a major domestic row, Matthieu wakes up naked in colleague Fred's bed, brought over by Chloe. Captain Lamarck witnesses a child being victim of a hut and run. The culprit driver, Gilles Royer, only did so to pay the ransom for his spoiled daughter, adolescent National Dance Academy recruit Sybil, for whim his wife gave up her job, yet she failed to actually take up the coveted scholarship. Irresistible Matthieu generously helps shy Hippolyte score a date, only to find she constantly questions him about Chloe, for a surprising reason. The team realizes Sybil, who had major social complexes and a lesbian affair with British exchange student Susan, found out about congenital tragedy.
- The team is reinforced with a detective from another district after it turns out their victim is the latest of a serial killer has been chasing in vain for years. Profiling and ample research find a common link: a seaside summer camp, which all attended as teenagers. A counselor was fired on false rape charges. Among the survivors in procurator general Villaret's unruly son.
- Environmental extremist movement veteran Alban's corpse is found in the forest, skull smashed, teeth and fingers mutilated, yet buried with respect. Matthieu's team works out he probably wasn't the victim, nor the target, but his twin brother Victor, a divorced banker who recently stepped out of the rat race. Chloé lets her sister commandeer her last minute to babysit son Elliott, but he gets lost a while in the park, to father Adrien's fury at the 'crazy cow', but it's no accident. The murder case proves twisted in many senses.
- Marie Saurier is found by the roadside, no trace of sex, with an overdose of alcohol, by tube. She left the speed-dates her brother Jonathan arranged for her, mistrusting her boyfriend, after only 3 of 7 men. Her profile shows immaturity, an ideal prey for sexual predators. Prime suspect is priest Fillaud, who was transferred after an earlier complaint.
