While doing research, a group of young geniuses accidentally stumbles upon a secret terrorist plot to create a time machine to go back in time and change history.

Christ is condemned and crucified, dying on the cross, but he is resurrected on the third day.

Metatron examines documentation from eight sources, most roughly contemporary with Jesus to determine: Was Jesus a real person? Where did he live and when? Was he the basis for Christianity. The sources include correspondence between Roman's concerned about the Christian movement and respected historians. But all sources are viewed with a skeptical eye and placed in context.
