Torben is 14 year old teen, whose imagination often gets him in trouble. His father sends him away to a farm during a summer break, and it doesn't take long for him to get in trouble again.
Everything breathes peace in the old merchant's house. Mads has to go to the station and pick up the merchant Kelbjerg's daughter Ida. She has just passed the high school diploma and comes home to have a much needed summer vacation.
