After witnessing his wife's rape and murder during Ottoman rule, a traumatized Bulgarian knight, Kara Ivan, retreats to the mountains where he raises his young daughter alone among the goats.

The action took place in the Rhodope Mountains in the early 20th c. Two young people are in love with each other and want to marry. The girl's father, however, objects to their plans and makes every effort to separate the couple. Without any grounds, he accuses the boy of committing a theft, and the young man is forced to become a fugitive and hide in the mountains. The girl is waiting for her lover, but to no avail. When coming back in two years, the boy gets to know that she is dead. He treats the entire village in local pub and then gets back to the mountains - this time to commit suicide.

This is a film about a traveling theatrical group in the beginning of 20th century. The itinerant troupe arrives in the little town, comprising several families, an eccentric student, an anarchist, all united by their love for theatre. The theatricals of 'Othello' are pending. All of a sudden, the performer of Desdemona falls ill. The local woman teacher plays in her stead. She makes a success and joins the troupe. The young woman travels with them along the dusty country roads and never gives up. Step by step she becomes a very good actress and assumes the leading of the group through its complex life. United by their common fate, the actors go through the joys and disappointments of their pioneering educative mission together. They stay at seedy hotels, sleep in the open, play on makeshift stages and in splendid halls and wherever they go they come across wealth and poverty, glory and humiliation, funny and sad adventures. This chronicle of a theatre company is, in fact, a parable about the theatre and actors - a parable about a choice that is more likely to bring the tears to the eyes than stars to the hair of those who have made it. This is also a story about several personal dramas of love and jealousy, about the rise of a rank amateur to a leading lady, and the fall of an old pro to shameful compromises. When at long last the traveling company becomes a state-owned theatre, but with a fixes repertoire arrived at by compromise, it falls apart. Those who have become tired of the struggle chose the security they are offered; those who wish to remain true to art go back to the dusty road.

A common Bulgarian family spends a warm afternoon in the fall in a country house. The preparations for a dinner party are in full swing. The formal reason is that the son enlists in the Army and the real reason is to arrange a match between him and the daughter of the boss. All the schemes are frustrated as it turns out that the boy has already married another girl. Both the hosts and the guests lose control, unleashing a consecution of tragic or comic situations.

Their road to victory is open. However, a feeling of responsibility arises. There will be accidents for sure. The brothers stay at he crash site to warn the other.

A small detour from the main road leads Boyan to a chance meeting with his student love Neda. The two set off in his car to Sofia. This journey brings them back to the memory of their youth and their great love.

A freedom-loving young woman falls in love with a young ship builder worker. He recognizes she lacks stability in her life and decides to hire her on his team of workers. In the beginning, she is happy, but soon starts to feel the tensions between the workers on the team. She becomes disgusted by the mismatch between the official party line and the actual atmosphere at work. She sees the way everyone lies to themselves, and cannot ignore the hollow nature of party slogans their false pathos. The company manager, at first eager to use her as PR, wants her fired so he can restore order in the work team. Her boyfriend who hired her on the team resists firing her and argues with the boss over this decision. He proposes marriage to her, but she escapes so she can live life on her terms - with complete honesty and without compromise.

During the spring morning walks, Yevgeny met several times with an unknown, mysterious girl, whom she could not forget. Thanks to the secret combination of his colleague, Yevgeny found this girl the most unexpected in his apartment. A young girl, Rositsa Eneva, is a leading regional communist functionary. She came with a purpose-surgeon Yevgeny , to save the life of a wounded partisan instructor from the Soviet Union. After the surgical intervention (performed with perfect precision), Rositsa can't stand it and gives free rein to her love feelings. Rositsa Eneva is trapped, wounded, and sentenced to death. Yevgeny manages to replace the death sentence of Rositsa Eneva with a life prison. Yevgeny met people from the resistance and helped them with medicines. Night on the outskirts of a big city. Several dump trucks are chasing random people on the road at high speed. They threaten to crush them. What makes these drivers so violent? The investigator puts them before the court on their own conscience. They should answer the question: "am I a good person?"

Apostol, whose life Luka once saved brings the suitcase full of money. Apostol leaves the suitcase with Luka because he is convinced that he is the most honest person on earth. At the first moment, Luka is proud by his friend's trust. Time passes and no one comes to claim the money. The papers write that Apostol is killed. Luka's wife convinces him to open the suitcase, but he stops at the last moment. Apostol's brother comes to claim the suitcase. Luka is relieved. However, his wife tells him that she has opened the suitcase and taken half of money. Luka dies.

Secret agent Blazhe has to neutralize the dangerous gang, led by ex-colonel Todorov. His attempts to infiltrate into the gang are frustrated. The gang is a mixed bag. During the shooting, the colonel is killed. Nona accuses Yosif of Galchev's death. The carriage of Nona's fiancé, who travels from Switzerland to the village, passes by the coffin with Galchev's body. A second after the fiancé enters her house Nona kills herself.

The psychiatric hospital is located in a former monastery. The main character, a middle-aged psychiatrist, does not believe in himself and his profession. He does not pay attention to an adult patient who commits suicide. It turns out that this is the father of a psychiatrist. It was believed that the father disappeared without a trace during the communist terror, when the socialist government was established. Step by step, the son reveals the truth about his father's life. The hope for a decent life is born in him.

A Bulgarian "Drugstore Cowboy." A teenage girl's rebellion through drugs becomes a metaphor for the struggle between individuality and totalitarianism. Amidst the political upheaval of 1968, Sybilla (the "Countess") is sent to a girls' re-education camp when she is caught using drugs. After a failed affair and an abortion, Sybilla's drug use lands her in a mental clinic where she resists efforts to remold her personality. Based on a true story.

The 50-year-old theater critic Iliev has achieved an enviable social position. A young actress from a provincial theater is his mistress. It is more profitable for Iliev to hide his relationship with the actress from his wife while she is in the countryside. He used his influence to keep the actress in the provincial theater. But during another trip to the provincial theater, things happen to him that contradict his belief in his own infallibility.

The winter of 1943. Four young partisans go to get food. They fall under siege. After a shootout, they retreat to the forest. Their leader knows that if they go back to the platoon, the steps in the snow will give up their comrades. A long journey begins in the snowy mountain. All four men die.
