A Japanese remake of the American television series Cold Case, featuring a young detective and her team who investigate cases which have been buried and ignored for years in an attempt to solve them.

It is a drama about the nostalgia of an academy instructor who has a secret with a woman he met on the street at night.

Kawai Maria transfers to Totsuka High School after being expelled from her previous school. Upon entering the classroom and hearing the students gossip, she bluntly states that the reason for her expulsion was an act of violence against her former teacher. The sharp tongue and frank nature hidden under her pretty face immediately makes her an outcast among her classmates. After all, she was told that she "taints others." Nevertheless, Maria hopes for a fresh start. She manages to become close with two of her classmates after they hear her beautiful singing. One is Yusuke Kanda, who's kind and friendly to everyone on the outside, but inside isn't that way at all. He teaches her a "lovely spin" which should help her get along with others better, but it just makes her seem even more intimidating. Maria, apparently, isn't a "lovely spin" kind of a girl. The other is Shin Meguro. He is tall, dark-haired and always frowning. Coming from a family of musicians, he knew right away which song Maria was singing. Meguro is a returnee but Maria points out that because he lacks communication skills he doesn't really know how to speak English. Throughout the year Maria faces many problems, mainly relating to getting along with others but soon resolves it with the constant help of her friends and bluntness.

As a child, Fukamachi Naoya stumbled upon a festival forbidden to be witnessed by the living, now possessing the ability to detect lies. He meets Takatsuki Akira, an expert in folklore and together, they decode myths and solve mysteries.

Ryota Suwano is a young man who is good at reading people's facial expressions. As a resident, he deals with patients with various problems and secrets by reading their medical records.

Makoto is a student at an art university. She was once captivated by her art class teacher, Ira when she was just 12 years old. Ira vanishes from the scene and, not until six years later, appears before Makoto at an art exhibition. Surprisingly, she looks the same as Makoto remembered and has a secret to hide. Although still human, Ira seems to have a thirst for blood.

Maria Kure (Nana Asakawa) is expelled from her Catholic girls' school for some reason and transfers to a co-ed school. Because of her overly straightforward personality, she says things that people don't want to be pointed out, and from the first day she antagonizes her classmates, including Ayu Nakamura (Karin Ono). Immediately, Maria is harassed and almost falls from the roof, but is saved by Shin Meguro (Hiroki Iijima) and Yusuke Kanda (So Okuno). Meguro and Yusuke each give her some advice, but Maria replies, "You can't make friends if you're afraid to get involved.

Yusuke (So Okuno), the class mood maker who is kind to everyone, is beginning to be attracted to Maria (Nana Asakawa), who is straightforward in her words and actions without any decoration. When Maria is harassed by Yusuke, he defends her and tells her how he feels in front of everyone, but Maria dares to push him away. Maria and Tomoyo (Suzu Yamanouchi), a member of the organizing committee, start to prepare for the school's chorus competition, but their classmates are not keen on the after-school practice, and even Yusuke, who intervenes, antagonizes them.
