- Paul gets messages, even on the family's new untraceable phones, from someone who knows Erin's password. He rightly assumes it's Tannen when asked to meet him in the Chicago subway, where they are however also awaited by an armed enemy. Kate's selfish wining to use his fake ID to buy alcohol for a party gets Henry 'Jason Holland' arrested. Pa just manages to avoid formal fingerprints processing. Because of ma's idiotic invention they came from New Orleans before Philadelphia, Mikey gets confused enough to have an asthma attack when qualifying for his new school's spelling-bee.
- Paul Rader follows on Tanner's info, trying the mystery key back in Washington, DC. He calls only his law firm partner, Lloyd. Snooping in the late Erin's apartment gets him noticed by the US marshals again. Henry 'Jason Holland' gets sophisticated fake IDs from school janitor Rick. He almost gets trapped by the dog while using the equipment for the other family members. Lloyd turns on Paul, but fails to confiscate the evidence. Ma starts working in the hospital under Dr. Fisher.
- Henry 'Jason' and his girlfriend Sam are now physically attacked by her dump first lover, fatherless Jake Bennett, yet dad punishes poor brave Henry by confiscating his cool new car. Emma nearly gets the family discovered and Brady disqualified by substituting a poor paper he wrote behind his back with one of her own from their Maryland period, yet dad only comforts her. Tommy misses his dog even more knowing mean Susie in his class has the same breed. The US marshals find a way to lean on the lawyer to make him betray Paul's first address.
- When cool brother Kevin calls their dad Charlie is very sick, Paul ponders whether to risk visiting his Boston hospital and feels a family failure. Rowdy Jake Bennett's his finally tracked down his pa Randy O'Connor, who gets him to make up with Henry 'Jason', who gets a free car repair. They become friends. Meanwhile Susie hesitates to go steady with Brady, even after he and Amber agree to break up, because of her own past back home.
