- Borderline is a disturbing story about a lost soul in the maze of her own identity. In the fracturing of her own image and the facing of her own physical body, we see the life of a young woman looking for the unity of the two extremes: her inner and outer world. The film develops along two interloping tracks, each one the stereoscopic fragment of the other. The first movement is inside the story, where the main character refuses to acknowledge her mirrored personality, which is in reality her appearance and any related consequences. The second movement is external to the fleeting images and becomes the psychological quest of the director. The camera turns into the tool of a soul search process the director has to face and as a result who is behind the camera does a lot of self-analysis. Is it possible to run from the conflict? Where to? Borderline doesn't want to provide answers but engulf the viewer into the process of self ripping apart and violent neurosis, denying a logical path that is impossible to follow for whoever is searching for the real self.
