FAQ

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

FAQ

Because everybody has their own opinion on film. Besides, 7.6/10 is a good average score, especially for a movie that is over 80 years old.

Dopey mainly looks younger than his friends because he has no hair. There is no real way to tell his age. Snow White does mistake the cottage for one belonging to children, but when she sees the dwarves she identifies them all as "little men". So, while likely the youngest, Dopey certainly isn't a child.

The movie's setting is never fully established. It could take place in the same location as the original story, or it could have been moved to an English-speaking country. The lack of modern technology and architecture does place it firmly in the past, though.

No, the evil Queen was her Stepmother, who had been married to her father. Snow White's real mother died prior to the story therefore never remarried

At one point, one of them will realize that and it happened to be Sleepy. Maybe also, it was an ironic comedy where the one who's -supposedly- the most unaware is in fact the most aware one.

There likely wasn't a defining moment in which the Queen became evil. She is a very vain person and this is shown to be the reason that she acts the way she does. We don't really get a good sense of who she is outside of her hatred for Snow White, either.

The Magic Mirror tells her where it is. "Over the 7 jeweled hills. Beyond the 7 falls."

Though he is presented as being somewhat 'slow' and clumsy, there is no way to tell if Dopey is 'mentally challenged'.

The Queen is based on a character from the Brothers Grimm's original story. Her design is part Helen Gahagan, part Joan Crawford.

The Queen is incredibly vain and wishes to be the 'fairest of them all'. Basically, she wants to be the most attractive person in all the land. She fears that Snow White will grow up to be better looking than she is, a fear which is compounded when her magic mirror deems the young girl to indeed be the 'fairest of them all'. Therefore, she dresses her in rags (in an effort to prevent her from looking pretty) and, eventually, resorts to plotting her death.

Though he is presented as being somewhat 'slow' and clumsy, there is no way to tell if Dopey is 'special needs'.

Captain Kirk left them on Ceti Alpha 5 where they became Khan Noonien Singh's followers

The Queen's plan would fail. There was a Micky Flanagan sketch parodying the scene, featuring Lily Collins (who played Snow White in 'Mirror Mirror') as the Queen.

Fortunately nothing, since she proceeds to immediately disguise herself.

Three years. Production started in 1934, and the film premiered in December 1937.

Far from it. The world's earliest surviving motion-picture film, showing actual consecutive action is called Roundhay Garden Scene. It's a short film directed by French inventor Louis Le Prince. While it's just 2.11 seconds long, it is technically a movie.

Either that or Charlie Chaplin, who Disney was a fan of.

Since the question is not dated, it is impossible to say when "the clock starts." Also, there is no definitive meaning to the word "reboot" to measure by. If you search IMDb, you will see that there are numerous versions of the tale, including a British retelling, starring Diana Rigg (1987), a Hallmark production with Miranda Richardson and Kristin Kreuk (2001), the one with Kristen Stewart (and its sequel) in 2012, a production from Spain the same year where Snow is a matador, a French modernization, of the ideas, if not the characters, from the original (2019), and a horror-themed one this year (2025). If, however, you only consider a true "reboot" to be one that followed the original closely, with same-named characters and situations, and perhaps even made by the same studio, then that would have to be the live action version of 2025, starring Rachel Zegler.
