Merrie Melodies.
No. Many prints circulating end with the hunter telling the rabbit "I can whip you and your whole family!" The hunter finds himself surrounded by many rabbits, waving their fists, and then the cartoon fades out.
Animation historian David Gerstein recently found an old print of the cartoon where the rabbits pounce on the hunter, beat him up, and then run away. "Bugs" returns however and gives the hunter back his gun. He tells him, "You ought to get that thing fixed. Someone's liable to get hurt!" Then "Bugs" bounces away on his head down the hill, and the hunter goes insane and does the same thing.
Since the ending has been long cut, Gerstein theorized that someone long ago (presumably fellow researcher Jerry Beck) may have seen the original ending, described it vaguely to another, and the idea of "heads bouncing down the hill" got mixed up through thr grapevine as "heads rolling down the hill".
