  • This is a classic in French-Canada. It was followed by Séraphin (1950) and by a TV-series that had a huge success. It's about a man, Séraphin Poudrier, who's avaricious. He's married to a young woman, Donalda, and he's one of the powerful man in the village. Great way to depict the life in rural French Canada of the time.

If you liked it, you can also read the book of the same name by Claude-Henri Grignon.

    Out of 100, I gave it 80.
