Johann Mouse (1953)

Trivia

Johann Mouse

Edit
Co-directors William Hanna and Joseph Barbera won seven Best Short of the Year Oscars. In order: The Yankee Doodle Mouse (1943), Mouse Trouble (1944), Quiet Please! (1945), The Cat Concerto (1947), The Little Orphan (1948), The Two Mouseketeers (1952), and Johann Mouse (1953).
Set in Vienna during the 19th century, the era of waltzing and Johann Strauss. The background objects are, as always, perfectly and meticulously rendered.
Tom first plays perhaps the most famous of the Strauss waltzes, "The Blue Danube."
The emperor depicted is Franz Joseph 1 of Austria.
Included in Warner Home Video's 2007 "Literary Classics Double Feature" DVD containing The Prisoner of Zenda (1937) and its re-make, The Prisoner of Zenda (1952).
