This program was originally aired on the CBS network on Wednesday, 8:30 PM EST. It's competition was The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet (1952) on ABC and The Price Is Right (1956) on NBC.
Licensed tie-in merchandise for the series included lunchboxes, toy space helmets, and a paperback novelization.
In the UK the BBC broadcast the show in 1962. However, due to a supplier mix-up, the show was broadcast in different order to the U.S. plus the BBC did not show all the episodes made due to misinformation as to how many there actually were available.
Some of the episodes are now believed to be lost.
