While seeking their sister, Quentin and Morgan Beaudine come across Charlotte Ross, a white woman living with the Indians. Against her will, they take her back into town where she and her half-breed son are shunned. When she learns that her relatives are no longer living the Beaudine brothers and a kind-hearted soldier try to help her.

The Beaudine brothers run afoul of a surly group of unscrupulous buffalo hunters, who take them prisoner and force them to work with the buffalo hides. They meet an Indian woman in the camp who is being used as slave labor. Turns out the camp is being stalked by the woman's young brave. She is shot while she and the brothers escape. Quentin is also wounded until Morgan comes to his rescue.

The Beaudine brothers are hired as scouts for a powerful Texas Ranger to track a Mexican bandit and his gang.

To escape the vicious windstorm outside, Quentin and Morgan enter another kind of storm when they seek shelter in a bawdy ranch house owned by an aggressive woman.

The company's aim is to replace the white miner's with Chinese laborers. In a secondary storyline, Quentin works alongside a Chinese doctor while Morgan runs into an old flame.
