A little boy sings a mischievous song to an older man with the lyrics "use your finger to clean your shit". A group of partisan soldiers also suggest running "shit" on a scarecrow effigy of Adolph Hitler. An elderly man is forced to roll in horse manure.
Brief mild insults such as "rat", "pig", "fat", "bastard", etc. Very little swearing.

This film showcases the emotional and psychological cost of war. It's shocking, immeasurably cruel, and thoroughly disheartening.
The film has plenty of disturbing imagery which may unsettle sensitive viewers.
The film portrays in brutal detail the war crimes committed by the Nazi regime in Eastern Europe and the effects they had on the population both physically and mentally. In doing so the film does not hold back as it is often outright devastating and overwhelming to watch, especially toward the end. The film feels real in a way that most films do not and as a result manages to be truly unsettling and horrifying.
The sheer amount of inhumanity and cruelty the Nazis commit is difficult to watch, to say the least, and is all shown in excruciating amounts of detail.
Numerous graphic animal deaths, including baby birds, a cow, and a slender loris (similar to a lemur). While not as graphic or disturbing as most of the human deaths, these animals are often killed in brutal ways.
Entire film is very upsetting including intense scenes of genocide and traumatic, long and torturing deaths including children and animals shown in much detail. Main characters performce is extremely convincing and upsetting.
One of the most horrifying films ever made.
Very graphic war violence throughout; many times children are involved.
Children are hurt by soldiers. (As is said in the violence/gore section)
