A few bed scenes (but nothing explicit)
Some remarks
A very crude remark is made about the dad not getting "his d$ck wet" and about the mother being a lesbian

The most brutal scenes are of domestic violence. An angry husband beats his wife throughout the movie, and we can see her bruises. One of the reasons this movie is rated R.
The son, angry at his father, talks about hurting his father, twice, one involve killing him and another about "break his jaw."
A robbery takes place, and the man being robbed has a gun to his head.
We see a man threatening a guy for not getting his stolen money back.
The same husband grabs his son at the end, in anger. We see threats of an "ass-kicking" earlier on.

Compared to most R-rated movies, the profanity in this one is a bit tame, but there's a still good amount of F-bombs through the movie, as well as other profanities.

Intense: the whole movie revolves around one youngster's plot to steal money to escape the poverty he's in.
The theme of the family having nothing is very upsetting. This is a sad movie.
Lots of scenes with domestic violence.
The ending will make many sad. Not a movie with a happy ending.
