    After hiding the Jazz Club's Christmas funds, Taylor takes Kyle to Las Vegas for a weekend of gambling where they make a big dent in their debt. Despite Peter's objections, Lexi insists on taking in Bob, the transient that she hit that night after he suddenly shows up at their front door. Meanwhile, Cooper begins yet another plan to destroy Michael's career when he plays him and Dr. Ilene Shulman, the head of Whilshire's medical staff, against each other. After Samantha and Amanda go away on a business trip, Connie once again takes advantage of Samantha's absence to make the moves on Billy, who eventually learns the truth about Connie's intentions, as well as her secret past when her former lover, Charlie, suddenly shows up who turns out to be a woman. At the end, Samantha and Amanda's business trip takes a turn for the worse when the helicopter they are riding in crashes, killing the pilot and stranding a critically injured Amanda and Samantha in a remote forest in Northern California.

    Billy and Kyle put pressure a rescue team to mount a search-and-rescue operation to find Amanda and Samantha. After being rescued, Amanda turns out have a broken back and may be paralyzed from the waste down for life. Connie also comes to peace terms with Billy and Samantha. Meanwhile, Peter finally sends Bob on his way, but he doesn't stay away for long since he has apparently fallen for Lexi. Kyle forces Taylor to agree to keep their Las Vegas fling to themselves, but the obsessive Taylor apparently isn't inclined to let Kyle go. After having Michael removed as Whilshire's chief of staff, Cooper suggests to Peter that Michael isn't good for their practice and insists that he be thrown out, while a frustrated Michael meets Amber, a stripper whom he saves from a mugger. Also, Cooper finally convinces Megan to spend the night with him, and an unsure-of-himself Craig tells Jennifer that she isn't good for him anymore.

Meanwhile, Kyle begins having strange nightmares during his service in the Gulf War involving his Marine buddy Nick, and Christine, a jeep driver that was killed in action. Also, a crippled Amanda alters her rehab plans when she decides to travel to a distant rehab center, while Taylor continues to hound her and Kyle. At the end, Lexi and Peter get a surprise when her father, Thomas Sterling, arrives for a visit.

Back in Los Angeles, Cooper continues his plan to bring down Michael when he makes him look bad to the doctors at a hospital reception by getting Amber drunk and disorderly. Michael then once again takes out his anger and frustration on Amber and throws her out his beach house. But Amber gets the last laugh when she returns and robs his place. While Amanda is still incapacitated for her injured back, Samantha and Billy pursue Jeff Baylor, a major league baseball star to be a client's spokesman for A.W.A.

    Michael and Jennifer's mother, Mia, arrives in town for a visit and immediately strikes fear into their hearts since Jennifer told her mother that she was engaged to Craig. When Jennifer learns about Craig's suicide, she persuades a reluctant Billy to play her fiancé to Mia. Michael also angrily searches for the departed Amber after she robbed his beach house and when he ventures to the strip club where she worked, he learns that she skipped town after stealing money from the various dancers and bouncers. Frustrated and angry, Michael attacks the club manager and ends up in jail in which his mother has to bail him out. Meanwhile, Taylor plays her trump card by slipping to Amanda about Kyle's long-lost Marine love, Christine, while he is determined to forget the past. Samantha finally lands Jeff Baylor, but with one stipulation that she handle the account herself, and Billy is struck with jealousy after correctly assuming that Jeff is after Samantha. Also, Lexi and Cooper try to let bygones be bygones after her father makes them business partners in his new company.

    In this two-hour episode, Kyle and Amanda travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico to visit his former Marine girlfriend, Christine, to clear up the past. But later, complications threaten Amanda and Kyle's wedding day when Christine arrives in Los Angeles and later leaves a suicide note saying that she will leave her car in the front of a moving train, prompting Kyle to delay the ceremony to stop her. Meanwhile, Lexi's father suddenly dies from a stroke during a heated confrontation with Peter, who tapes the argument. When Megan accidentally discovers the tape, she shows it to Lexi who immediately blames Peter for her father's troubles and untimely death. Also, Jennifer continues to ask Billy to play her fiancé to impress her mother. When Mia eventually learns the truth about Craig's suicide, she surprisingly takes the news very well. Following the egocentric, selfish advice from Jennifer, Samantha is encouraged to act on her feelings for Jeff who takes her out to dinner. Michael also asks Mia for financing after a patient, a gang member named Spider, suggests opening a free clinic in his South-Central neighborhood, which turns out to be a front for Spider to use the clinic for his gang banger war.

While Amanda goes on a business trip to New York, Kyle tries to help with Christine's recovery. But Kyle's old Marine friend, Nick, secretly arrives back in Los Angeles and schemes with Taylor to keep Christine in town as part of a plan to break up Kyle and Amanda. Megan keeps Michael company who thinks there's still a chance to reconcile with her. At the end, during the reading of Thomas Sterling's will, Cooper is entitled to a secret windfall of $10 million if he remarries Lexi within a year.

But Jeff, who was now fallen in love with her, puts Samantha ahead of his career, and Jennifer takes advantage of Samantha and Billy's feud to make the moves on him for herself.

When Samantha goes on a secret weekend getaway with Jeff to San Diego, a lonely Billy seeks comfort with Jennifer at an advertising awards dinner. Also, Cooper tells Peter about the codicil in Sterling's will, where Peter uses this to make an effort to reconcile with Lexi.

Peter surprises Lexi by showing her a new high rise condo for them to live in which puts a crimp in their reconciliation. Cooper makes a plan for Megan and himself to start anew when he tells her that he has been considering a job offer in Philadelphia. Also, Michael lets Taylor hide out at his beach front house for a few days, and advises her to continue to deny any involvement with Christine after Kyle receives a cryptic note from Nick about Taylor's "death," which sets him off to investigate who really was Christine.

Kyle continues investigating Christine's death when the path leads him to Nick's old place in Dallas where he learns about the visit he had with Taylor. But Kyle decides to bait Taylor into spilling what she knows by wooing her. At the end, Taylor learns from Michael an unsavory surprise: she is pregnant from the fling they had.

When Billy eventually learns about Samantha and Jeff, he takes his anger and jealousy too far by assaulting him. While Lexi continues to look for a good advertising spot, Amanda hires Rory at her agency and proposes a quickie divorce to Kyle in order for her to start a brash new life for herself. But Rory, (who is revealed to be a conniving and dangerous gold-digger) plots his own future by stealing Amanda's money and takes advantage of her disintegrating mental state to plot her downfall. Meanwhile, Peter goes on a getaway in the mountains for a few days of relaxation, where Michael follows him there to ask for his job back at their practice and they both end up getting lost in the woods. Kyle continues being friendly to Taylor hoping she will tell him what she knows, while Amanda boards a plane with Rory to the Caribbean to start their own lives.

Cooper and Megan return to Los Angeles after Cooper's failed job offer in Philadelphia to find Michael moving back into the practice after a little negotiation with Peter, prompting Megan to quit and gets another job as a waitress at the Upstairs Jazz Club. But later, Michael's loose lips give Megan leverage against him. Billy continues to steam over Samantha's affair with Jeff, who is continuing his pursuit of her, with a little of Jennifer's help, while she continues her pursuit of Billy, until Samantha finds out.

Meanwhile, Amanda and Kyle return to Los Angeles where Peter tells her that he wants to start over with her. Amanda turns Peter down gently, but it's clear that he will not take 'no' for an answer. Faced with going to prison for her father's embezzlement scams, Lexi pleads her case to Megan to pressure to marry Cooper to get the insurance money to save her company. Also, Samantha continues to simmer at the sight of Billy and Jennifer together while she makes her own plans with Jeff.

After Peter tries unsuccessfully to make a come-on to Amanda, he meets with a shady, a well-connected former patient who agrees to Peter's request for a favor regarding his plot to win Amanda back.

Also, Cooper and Lexi are warned by the Sterling lawyer to abide by their vows or face fraud charges, while a jealous Megan stands idly by. Peter fears he's gone overboard in his arrangement for Amanda when he discovers that the two men he hired to kidnap Amanda and release her so she will look upon Peter as her savor, turn out to be cold-blooded hit men who have no qualms about anything to get the job done, and they plan to kill Amanda after they get their ransom money from Peter.

After going into labor at the beach house, Taylor finally gives birth to a baby boy and makes Jane and a reluctant Michael agree to raise the child themselves. But Taylor soon has a change of heart and leaves town with her infant son back to Boston. Meanwhile, Cooper takes desperate measures to end his bogus marriage to Lexi by taking her out on the boat she recently purchased, with the apparent intent to throw her overboard, and Megan happens to be on board too after figuring out Cooper's plan. Also, Samantha moves out of the Melrose complex to Tampa, Florida to try to reconcile with Jeff after he starts his new radio DJ sports job. Back in Los Angeles, Jennifer tries to reconcile with a hostile Billy before he leaves for Italy for his new job and she asks to take her with him.

It contains secrets, including information about a rift between Kyle and his long-estranged brother, Ryan, as well as unflattering incidents regarding Michael about his days as a male stripper in Chicago, Peter and his involvement of illegal heart surgery for the shady Mr. Beck during his prison term for Amanda's attempted murder (in season 3, and of Jane's fling with a college friend, named Alex Basitan, the night before her wedding to Michael eight years ago. But Amanda discovers a page detailing something of her own past in which she tears out and hides behind her bookshelf.

While Peter is in the hospital recovering after Amanda accidentally shoots him while searching her apartment for the missing page from Matt's journal, Lexi takes an interest in his psychiatrist, Dr. Lou Visconti, hoping to find something to use against Peter and discovers the truth about him being behind Amanda's kidnapping.

Also, with Lexi constantly baiting him, Peter returns the ransom money to Amanda and Kyle, who also agree that they have had enough of reading Matt's journal, in which Amanda burns it... and the missing page detailing her involvement in a long-ago murder.

An increasingly jealous and paranoid Michael throws Jane and Alex together and resorts to spying on them hoping to find something to catch them on. Also, Peter and Kyle face off with each other over drinks and ponder the contents of the missing journal page which Amanda continues to insist not knowing about, but apparently Eve does.

    Amanda sends Jane to Chicago to help Alex in order to keep his account at A.W.A., where Jane vows to remain all business. But Alex reveals that he still has strong feelings for Jane. In Los Angeles, Michael tries without success to get to Chicago while Peter tries to arrange a bachelor party for him. Meanwhile, Kyle becomes suspicious when Eve rejects a chance for a record deal and his suspicions grow stronger when he discovers that Eve has no past history anywhere. Lexi sets her sights on Ryan, who continues getting the cold shoulder from Megan. Peter continues his blossoming relationship with Eve, but complications arise when he too suspects that she's hiding something of her past, while Amanda (who knows about Eve's strange past) covers for her when Eve disappears for the day. Also, Peter's therapist, Dr. Visconti, finally meets Amanda for the first time and he too becomes smitten with her.

    Michael and Jane's wedding day arrives and the devious Lexi tries to keep Ryan from the wedding in order to work her way closer to him. Jane has an attack of conscience that temporarily calls off the wedding, but an intervention from Amanda and Peter saves the day. At the reception, Michael succumbs to a combination of his jealousy, too much champagne, and Alex's sudden and uninvited arrival and announces to all about Jane's infidelity after Alex tells Michael the truth about Chicago. Jane is also angered by Alex when she soon discovers Alex's true agenda for their business trip to Chicago. Megan, intoxicated after walking into Ryan and Lexi together, seeks companionship with Michael, which ends when they both fall though the roof of the Melrose apartment complex, right into Amanda's bed.

    Peter and Eve travel to Peter's home town in Texas to straighten out items after the sudden death of his father, which prompts Peter to think about securing a life different from his lonely father's by proposing marriage to Eve, who immediately accepts. Upon returning, Peter and Eve, with Amanda and Kyle in tow, set out to Eve's hometown in Oakville to elope. Meanwhile, Amanda arranges a night alone for Jane and Michael to get them back together, by locking them up in the Melrose laundry room. Lexi opens up her feelings to a hostile Megan in order to sooth their strife over Ryan. After hiring a lawyer to sue Michael for divorce and emotional distress, Jane confides in Megan about a problem of hers that makes Michael's feud with her secondary. Also, Kyle finds a connection between Eve and Amanda when he follows them one night to the nursing home of Eve's invalid grandmother.

    Kyle finally learns the connection between Eve and Amanda (that was in Matt's journal) when they tell him their story of going to high school together and the night when they murdered Eve's abusive football player boyfriend after he attacked the girls which Eve took the fall and spent 15 years in prison. Eve and Amanda then plead to Kyle to keep their history a secret who reluctantly agrees. Later, Eve and Peter's honeymoon is temporarily interrupted by a nude Lexi making a play for him, who in return threatens her. Meanwhile, Michael goes easy on Jane at their divorce deposition after being told by Megan about Jane's health. That night, a drunken Lexi makes a scene at the Jazz Club in which Ryan and Megan have to subdue her, which seems to bring them back together. Also, Amanda considers "signs" that she should reevaluate her life with Kyle of starting a family.

    Michael decides to sell his beach house to settle his debits, and his attractive real-estate agent, Linda, quickly sells, seducing him in the process. At the same time, Jane reminisces about her and Michael's first meeting and accepts a date from an shy agency co-worker. Meanwhile, Ryan is assigned to escort supermodel Catherine McCord after his first date with Megan goes bad. Amanda's plans to start a family with Kyle may not ring true when he tells Peter about his suspected sterility. Later, as a result of a lab mix-up, Peter tells Kyle that his suspicions of being sterile are correct. Also, Lexi and Amanda call a truce between their agencies for a charity event. Here, Eve's marriage to Peter takes a turn when a man, who used to work at the prison where Eve served the last 15 years, recognizes her and threatens to reveal her secret to Peter.
