After Ramirez dives through the window to escape from the
French secret service, he gets up and runs off unarmed. Suddenly he has a gun to shoot a French agent in the head.
Ramirez is a Naval Lieutenant Commander, yet when seen in uniform for the first time, his shoulder boards have the two stripes of a Naval Lieutenant. The correct shoulder boards (with 2-1/2 stripes) are seen throughout the rest of film.
When Annibal is in the safe house in Israel with Carlos' ex-girlfriend he removes his boxers and she comments on his size. A few moments later when he walks towards her you can see he is wearing black shorts.
When Ramirez looks through the photos of victims, there is a photo of a mother and child, along with a caption indicating that they were killed by a car bomb. They were seen to have been killed in an earlier scene with Jack Shaw at the café by a grenade.
Shaw and Ramirez drive around London in a black Jaguar car. The paint on the metalwork in the interior shots is orange-red, and the door panels are lighter, showing it to be a different car.
At the naval reception, the American flag hanging above the band is backwards. The field (the stars) should be on the left, not on the right.
Ben Kingsley's "Amos" is supposed to be a Mossad agent, whose team captures "Ramirez" in the Jerusalem marketplace. The Mossad does not operate within Israel, strictly outside, much like our CIA. The Shin Bet, Israel's equivalent of the FBI, would be the agency operating within Israel.
Ramirez's training appears to take place on Mount Royal, particularly around the Belvedere (during the remote snowmobile scene). This whole area is a well-known city park as well as a popular tourist area, which offers a great view of Montreal's skyline that has been captured in many photographs. This makes it a very unlikely area to hold a covert training operation.
The background voices in Libya are speaking Levantine Arabic,
which is spoken in Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine, but definitely not Libya.
When Annibal Ramirez is going around in the Jerusalem market (about 15 minutes into the movie) we see him reach into his bag for film (to supposedly reload his camera), but the subsequent shot clearly shows there is no film in the open camera that he closes before he takes the picture of the two guards.
When they first show Ramirez in a Navy uniform he has on Lieutenant bars and not Lieutenant Commander bars.
When Ramirez is training in Montreal, the 1000 de la Gauchetiere is seen among the city's skyline (the building with a triangle-shaped top). This building was not completed until 1992, 6 years after the events on screen take place.
"East Berlin, 1987": (1) There is no way disposable paper cups existed at that time; (2) There is no way that such a sophisticated color photo manipulation computer program existed at that time.
When Ramirez as Jackal escapes from the woman's apartment by leaping from one balcony to another, you can see the mat on the balcony that the stuntman lands on.
When the car flips over on the stair, you can see the stuntman wearing a helmet before the car explodes.
When Amos and Annibal Ramirez are talking in the street for a brief moment the shadow of the camera is visible on Amos's shirt.
During the car chase in Libya, you can see a sign on one of the walls in Hebrew, and there are no Hebrew signs in Libya.
After the scene at Heathrow Airport, Jack and Annibal are
supposedly driving through London in a Jaguar with a London bus in the background but an American style fire hydrant is clearly visible.
When Annibal, Jack and Amos are driving along the Dead Sea in Israel, to meet Carla, they are clearly driving to the North, passing the Dead Sea hotel area. The meeting itself takes place at one of the old huts, which were part of a factory during the '30. The huts are located about 5 km to the South of the Dead Sea Hotel area.
