I just can't believe that anyone could dislike it! All was excellent - idea, script, dialogues, soundtrack... It's a sight inside human's nature and character. Irony, sarcasm, black humor reveal the absurdity of our everyday life. And the main thing - it makes watchers THINK!!! 10 out of 10!

adonis-108 September 1999watching this film on video, it made me wonder "my god, could ANYONE give his money to see it at a theather???!!!" i mean, who on earth would do such a thing?the scenario is simply so out of any possible reality, the man with the chopped finger sits and STARES all the time, instead of doing anything any man with an actual chopped finger would do! all the money they spent on making it should be givven back to the viewers for standing this suffering!THAT CANNOT BE CALLED CINEMA!

tatararabuga22 February 2008For the first 70 minutes the film was HILARIOUS. I laughed so hard so many times that my whole family came to see what's going on. The script was good from the very beginning. It was nice and tight {with a matching sound-score} all the way . but towards the end i began to feel like ' maybe it's going a bit to far?'.It kind of became too implausible to be funny. Still, it's a good comedy.here,i must say something about the acting. it wasn't very good. actually it did somewhat bad to the whole film. all the smaller actors were better than the two central ones, especially better than the lady. so, do i advise you to watch it? yes, i do. it is definitely worth seeing, especially if you don't have any problem with severed fingers.if you do feel squirmy,watch it still. just don't look at the severed end, that's all.

Sylviastel17 April 2013Liev Schreiber plays a husband who wants to have sex with his very pregnant wife played by Caroleen Feeney. They have chemistry together. Well when she is cutting carrots, she accidentally cuts off her husband's finger. She suspects that he is cheating on her and wants evidence. What begins as a simple plan to withhold his dismembered finger becomes a series of events to last the whole day and into the night. They go to their best friends house where there is confrontation and later to the bank where they get involved in a holdup and hostage situation but it's the burglars who are spooked. They end up in the hospital where even there. She won't let up on his cheating. She demands to know the truth. What could have been a silly farce of a movie becomes realistic although it's hard to believe you can drive through the Holland Tunnel and Garden State Parkway and Turnpike without paying a toll.

katguy2 December 1999This was a truly unique and fascinating black comedy, both mesmerizing and funny. The performances by all the actors were riveting and excellent. It's a movie that makes you think as well as laugh, and you laugh plenty. It's really the definition of what an "independent film" should be. It really made me think. Catch this film if you get the chance.

kadin8824 March 2000What happened to this film? I saw it two years ago at the Sundance Film Festival and was blown away with the rest of the audience. Recently, I got to wondering about it and... Where is it? I mean with all the junk that comes out, and with these films (and filmakers)...? I don't understand. I mean the actors were great, all up and comers. Not just the two leads which I remember vividly as an audacious couple, but also all the supporting actors. Particularly Danny Hoch. He was a riot! And I also remember the soundtrack which was a marvel. Anyway, anybody hear about this film or know what happened... let me know. Man, it's a real pity if more people don't see this film and many of the others that were shown that year. What happens to all those films anyway?

javi_garcia200725 February 2009It is a wild ride from the beginning till the end, very "independent" great acting, very funny script. It is a perfect movie to see among friends. The music is great too. People like us, who loves creativity and tired of commercial movies that shows nothing are hungry for something different just like this film. Black comedy is what we need to see just to remember who we are, and how we behave everyday in an ironic way without getting upset o0r ashame of our acts. Me and my friends really had a blast when we saw it, and it is because some of us related with the characters in the story. Thumbs up for this piece of work.

Dave-71610 October 1999The script must have had potential at some stage, why else would a studio touch this poor excuse for a film. At the start I really thought this film was going somewhere, but the actors soon put a stop to that. Some very bad editing and poor camera work nicely topped off with a cast who really don't want to be there.
One scene during a kidnapping, the "F" word in various forms is used every 2 seconds. A drastic attempt at a bit of Tarintino style film making that misses the mark badly...
Give it a miss, don't waste 90 minutes of your time like I did.
