    Warning: Spoilers
Porn pioneer Henri Pachard made hundreds of varied porn films and videos, and this 2-part VHS feature is of special interest as it straddles different strains of Adult Cinema.

As the title suggests, and IMDb keywords announce (already spoilers) this is a story with a surprise, We are introduced to brother and sister prostitutes Tom Byron and Danielle in a slice of life/lifestyle porn format quite familiar from the earliest days of hardcore. But the cliffhanger climax of Part 1 reveals that these siblings Gene and Jean are one person, as an ill Byron shapeshifts into his sexy sister Danielle.

The shot of Byron in pain with a cloth covering his forehead is shown several reels earlier in the movie (repeated in proper chronology near the feature's end) as a flash-forward, signalling that something is wrong, though someone has posted in IMDb that the placement of the shot is merely an editing goof.

Before this final revelation, we are treated to a motley group of colorful characters, plus various extras that give the show a loosey-goosey, improvisational quality. Writer-director Henri Pachard, who worked under his real name Ron Sullivan in the softcore '60s porn industry, harkens back to the grittier '70s in his approach, but with a cast of superstars including Tom Byron and pal Joey Silvera as central hustler-style protagonists, plus the beautiful Danielle and hall of famer Paul Thomas as a porno filmmaker. A lengthy scene of Danielle and PT snorting coke at a party before having sex is very much a staple of anti-establishment '70s movies.

Kinkiness is introduced in Byron's work as a gigolo, especially servicing an older married couple, whose husband simply likes to watch. The matter of fact depiction of sex workers, of both sexes, is refreshing.
