  • If it were not for Michel Simon's presence, the film would not be broadcast nowadays. There are pleasant pictures of Marseille (and its gangsters). Not much more:Racketeering, drugs ,prostitution ,the usual menu ;not very original ,except that the villains' head seems to be a woman (Suzy Prim, who had seen better days before)and that one of the gangsters saved the cop's (Michel Simon) son during WW2;it is really a pity that this son does not appear in the second part of the story.

In Prim's office (she also runs a strip tease club),there are posters of contemporary French singers (Annie Cordy,Catherine Sauvage),that's not flattering for those ladies!Besides,Catherine Sauvage sings a song "Un Inconnu A Volé Mon Coeur" (A stranger has stolen my heart).
