  • The winner of Pula Film Festival, 1965. The film was the first part of Mimica's modernist "trilogy" and one of the high peaks of New Cinema in Yugoslavia. Mate, a middle-aged director of a company from a big city, is traveling by boat to the island of his birth Vishevica to make a speech at the ceremony, which will reveal a monument to fallen soldiers. Local people welcome him as a hero and he decides to show his wife a beauty of the island. At a beach, he encounters an old acquaintance, Vincent, and begins to remember the time when he was still a young man on the island.
