Ethel and Frederick meet for the first time since their aborted wedding. Overprotective Harry is overseeing the installation of a brand new kitchen for Ethel while Martin Edwards decides to give the famous front door a new lick of paint.

Ethel is studying (not to mention practicing) medicine, because every Bed & Breakfast needs someone with knowledge of first aid. Neil and Kim have both got their mind set on moving into the spare 'box-room'. Harry has got a new job as a singing Telegram, and must dress up as Tarzan for a sweet sixteen party. Lucky for him, Dicky Heart & the Pacemakers are on hand to give him tips.

Ethel wants to be a Girl Scout. Tony Deal is suspected of robbing a bank, but Kim helps him by giving him 6 different disguises. Neil has been deputized by the local PC and is on to Tony.

Ethel is trying to convince everybody that she's training an invisible dog. Harry has a gig to open a pet shop as a singing telegram, and dresses up as a gorilla, chicken, rabbit and a dog. Dawn returns from holiday and is exhausted from the trip. Neil and Kim are now occupying the box-room on alternating weekdays.

Dawn is being very posh. She has even gotten David Taylor to play her butler. What is more, she is hinting that her special VIP guest is none other than Prince Andrew (it turns out to be a DJ, Andy Prince). Harry is shocked to learn Kim has been dumped by her boyfriend Dirk (aka Berk), because Dirk just happens to be Harry's employer.

With Ethel gone, No 73 is even more chaotic than usual. Martin even feels free to re-enact war campaigns in the house. Neil gets a big valentine card from Kim.

Whith Ethel still away on holiday, Martin and Tony Deal try to lure all the guests to No 75. Tony even puts on a mask molded after Harry by visiting mask makers. Dawn is busy counting fleas while Kim, who has fallen out with Neil again, is playing "Porkys" on the piano.

Dawn is writing a book, Harry is planning to organize a rock concert, Neil a Wild animal park (wearing a leopardskin) and Ethel wants to have a archaeological dig in the backyard.

It's a girls weekend as Harry and Neill are off to France. Kim and Dawn fight over a diary as Ethel and Hazel try to negotiate between the two of them. Ethel want to get out of the bed and breakfast business. Martin just wants to be more popular and tries wearing a toupee.

An episode on the beach: Shaw Taylor from "Police 5" helps solve a crime masterminded by Ethel under the guise of 'The Jeweled Hand'.

Ethel is away. Neil does sports, Hazel does the house cleaning and Harry tries hard not to be confused.

It's Martin and Hazel Edward's 20th wedding anniversary, but only Hazel remembers. This makes her understandably upset. Ethel finally reveals the results of the Quest for the key to the Box Room: Kim has won, but Neil suggests she shares it with Dawn. Ethel is planning to be a clown with Harry as her reluctant sidekick.

Hazel has thrown herself into directing an amateur production of "Pirates of Penzance". Martin, despite having two parts and being in charge of the box office , is sulking because of the lack of an anniversary present from her. Stage Manager Ethel is on a diet, Harry is doing the special effects but remains very confused about his role and Kim is in charge of publicity. She has set up a dark room to develop her photos in the shed. Harry and Kim end up winning a Funny Face competition.

Ethel is gardening. Dawn helps Neil fix his van and so does S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. Telebug, making her first appearance on the show.

Harry is afraid the others are trying to drive him crazy when they act even more silly and mysterious than usual. They are actually planning a secret Christmas pajama party for him (to make up for the previous Christmas when none of them could be together). As presents, Harry receives a video and LP of his all time favourite film, 'The Sound of Music'. Neil and Kim are now definitely an item, so he gets 3 football tickets from her, while Dawn receives a puppy. In the next season it would be revealed Ethel emigrated to Australia over the summer, taking the pup along.

Having spend the last 3 weeks selling chips with Neil in his chip van, Kim feels the need to stretch her legs as some kind of female Rambo and calls herself 'Kimbo'. In the meantime, Neil plays with boy scouts and Dawn presents the premiere of Front Door Productions' latest mini series: "The Z-team". It stars Neil as Tom 'Cannibal' Stiff, Dawn as Dimpleton 'Skates' Wreck, Kim as Marginally Mental Murky and Harry as Mr. P/B.A. Brat.

S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. Telebug, now a regular, has fallen in love with the fridge. Dawn spars with a boxer, Neil is caught reading one of Kim's soppy romance novels while Harry goes off to meets a 73 year old sailor named Harry.

Kim is singing the blues because Neil is off watching football. S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. Telebug has dumped the refrigerator in favor of the spin dryer. Copycat Andrew O'Connor is helping Harry to convert the shed into a Sauna. In anticipation of this, both Dawn and Kim end up wearing little more than towels when Harry presents the Duster Muster quiz.

Martin and Hazel Edwards have returned from a safari and were shocked to find No 75 emptied by robbers. Distressed, they have moved into the attic at No 73. Dawn proposed to thrown them a surprise party, but Neil is more interested in playing a football match. It finally turns out Andrew O'Connor merely borrowed the Edward's furniture.

Frederick Crossfield comes round to show off his new mustache and introduce the new maid, Maisie McConachie. Andrew is trying to impress Kim, who would rather press paper or have an adventure. Neil freaks out when David Taylors' spiders get loose.

Harry has installed a jukebox in the lounge. Neil is teaching S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. how to support Liverpool. Neil agrees to babysit Martin's nephew Geoffrey. However, Geoffrey is quite grown and wants to study quantum physics.

We catch our first glimpse of Dawn and Kims room they awake to find a haunting, whistling sound. As it's Halloween, Dawn decides to take up ghost-busting (the mysterious sound turns out to be a musical instrument). Kim goes out on a sled ride while Harry dreams of a career in the movies and dresses up as a musketeer. Hazel has gotten a new job as an agony aunt.

When Andy brings over all of his stuff to move in, Dawn mistakenly tries to sell it in a jumble sale. Kim has ambitions to join the opera. Harry has a faulty shipment of left handed gloves to sell at his market stall and brings a dog to David and Dawns veterinary. Dawn joins in on a game of ice hockey, wearing her roller boots.

Martin thinks he is growing old and losing his sight, so Harry and Neil attempt to make him fit. Meanwhile, Maisie the maid has developed a crush on David the vet. Neil hires a plane to advertise his mobile chip shop, but the text turns out to say 'mobile ship chop' instead.

The gang is performing a live murder mystery with viewers able to call in and help the 'investigators' solve the case. Dredlock Hemlock (Harry) and Whatson (Samantha) seek to find out who killed Lady Isabella (Kim). Turns out her sister Radish (Dawn) did it. Afterwards Hazel the cook 'murders' Neil.

Scribbling away, Neil has created two superheroes: Chipman and Fishboy. He forces a reluctant Andrew and Geoffrey to play them. Maisie goes out (while the other girls are off shopping) and puppet builders from Spitting Image people visit to show off their latex creations.

Now that Children's ITV has started broadcasting on Sunday morning, the gang at No 73 is on hand to present the programs. This does get in the way of Dawn's wish to have an adventure. Neil is cleaning the cellar, but prefers drawing doodles of Junior George instead.

Dawn wants to publish her own newspaper. Geoffrey prints the paper and his auntie Hazel is the editor. However, Hazel also has to cope with her Agony aunt radio spot. Meanwhile Harry is still puzzled about selling stuff at his stall. To celebrate the birthday of St. Nicolas, Dawn dresses up as Black Peter (Zwarte Piet) and David Taylor as St. Nicholas in a rather hastily together pair of costumes.

Dawns paper (called Kevin) is finished. Harry is off to play Buttons in a pantomime performance of Cinderella until January.

Neil, Dawn and Kim arrive home late from doing their X-mas Shopping. Bill Oddie and his wife Laura are decorating the bathroom while Martin plays the violin. Dawn & Kim also go skiing.

Kim is wrapping Christmas presents. Neil tries to fix the telly, thereby missing all the programmes he has to introduce. In the end Kim fixes it by giving it a good bang.

It is freezing at No 73. Hazel argues with Maisie over a proposed Seaside show until Dawn takes over. Martin is practicing a speech and Kim her singing. Tony Deal is mentioned: He sold a car to Neil, which soon caught fire and now Neil wants Tony to pay up. Dawn reveals her dog is with Ethel in Australia.

Dawn construct a new front door as the regular one was taken away by Greenpeace. Neil and Kim both catch the flu.
