Chan Sing goes to Shaolin again
Kam Kong leads a massacre on a funeral procession. He then kills Chan Sing's widow mother to get the special sword. Chan Sing cannot even fight and is about to get killed when a tree suddenly explodes and saves him. He follows the monk to Shaolin Temple.

This is not your usual training sequence at Shaolin. This movie goes deep into the mind, to depths that will not be probed again until 2011 in Andy Lau's movie "Shaolin". For 1975 this was quite an epic attempt and the results were satisfying to this viewer.

This film seems to have been filmed in South Korea. What is passed off as Shaolin Temple is actually Jongmyo Shrine. This place of Korean kings was a popular spot for martial arts movies in the 1970s. Watch "The Secret Rivals" for the most views of this area in a martial arts movie.

This movie also seems to be titled "Ferocious Monk from Shaolin" in some of the old VHS releases. There is more than one review here (including mine) to clear that up. Be sure you know what movie you are watching.
