Bill Tilden offers a tennis lesson to two youngsters in this MGM short subject.

This sort of sports short subject was very popular in the early 1930s. Bobby Jones starred in several about golf, often directed by George Marshall, in which he showed various Hollywood personalities aspects of his game. Other series covered billiards and even bowling, with Pete Smith snarkily narrating a couple of short subjects about trick shots in bowling.

The narrator of this short subject is Eric Hatch. Mr. Hatch was a writer, best remembered for writing the novel MY MAN GODFREY, which was made into a classic screwball comedy. It's Hatch's only credit in the movies outside of writing. I have no idea why he was chosen for the job.
