  • This film falls into the category of being bad enough to be good. Pledges at a sorority house are plagued by a former sister who happens to be a vampire. Luckily, each of the new pledges is skilled at kickboxing so they are able to defend themselves. The acting is horrendous, the kickboxing scenes are totally laughable, and the vampiric special effects are at about the speed of the fake teeth they used to sell in the back of comic books. However, the girls are all incredibly gorgeous, so the T&A value is quite high, and if you are in the right frame of mind the film will have you rolling on the floor laughing. Elvira should get a hold of this one.

VAMPIRES OF SORORITY ROW is an indescribably poor shot on video comedy. The title 'KICKBOXERS FROM HELL' flashed up at the very beginning. It consists of just a handful of characters being filmed by a video camera. One of them is supposed to be a vampire and the others are supposed to be kickboxers so some very stupid and unconvincing action follows. The 'food fight' sequence is undoubtedly the lamest moment. Expect silly sound effects, stilted line delivery, and all of the usual pitfalls associated with independent film-making.

But not this time. Was this a pornographic film with the sex edited out? An improvised satire on bad independent film-making? An effort to popularize bad howling sound effects? A promotional video for handheld voice recorders? I'm not sure. "I'm guess I'm gonna have to hurt you, but first I'm gonna have some fun!" If only the movies was fun, I wouldn't have minded the hurt. Also, since when are sororities in suburban tract homes?
