Greg purchases a new car - an impracticable convertible. Jimmy's parents visit with memorabilia from his deceased grandmother. The parents want Jimmy to move back to their home.
A new parent at the childcare center has a nanny who does not seem to be appreciated. Kim hires the nanny away from the parent. Kim soon finds out why the nanny is not appreciated. Logan has a new toy - a dog robot.
Kim & Greg and the kids go on a family vacation with Christine & Jimmy and their kids to Lake Tahoe. Greg does not like staying in a cheaper hotel because that is all Jimmy can afford.
Pregnant Kim is ordered to go on bed rest, and Jimmy is confined to the couch after he breaks his leg. Greg spends time with Christine, doing chores and errands, while Kim and Jimmy connect during their convalescence.
Kim & Greg realize they are not treasuring the second pregnancy as much as they did the first pregnancy. Jimmy & Christine they have not paid much attention to Logan, their second child.
Jimmy catches an intruder in Heidi Klums' trailer, and then is called a hero. Greg is addicted to nasal spray and Kim takes steps to stop him from using it.
A documentary style program shows Greg & Kim preparing for the birth of their new child. The documentary goes through Greg & Kim meeting, Jimmy and Christine meeting and marrying, both sets of parents, and more. Baby Emily is born.
Greg reluctantly takes two week paternity leave to help Kim with Emily. He keeps wanting to go back to work. Meanwhile, Jimmy realizes he has to use up sick leave days or loose them.
Dominic participates in the school sport events and does poorly, but still receives participation trophies. Jimmy does not think he should have trophies for not winning and needs to learn about losing. Dominic overhears the comments.
Kim decides that they should rent a storage unit to hold the excess items she and Greg own; Christine & Jimmy store excess items as well. Greg and Jimmy end up visiting the storage unit to play with their "stuff" from before the marriages.
Christine tells Jimmy no need for a gift for Valentines Day. She gets Jimmy a card, but does not like the one he got for her. She wants him to be more romantic.
Jimmy's father visits. Jimmy gets four tickets for the baseball fan expo. Jimmy does not want the father to lie to Dominic about teaching Johnny Bench to hit in the minor league. Turns out the father did help the baseball teams.
A gorgeous, sexy woman starts working with Greg and starts flirting with him. No one believes that she is coming on to Greg. Greg is upset that she seems to have a lot of responsibilities and power for a new employee.
Greg & Kim attend a birthday party at his boss's luxurious beach home. Kim then arranges to have a surprise party for Greg at the beach house, but he is uncomfortable because Jimmy & Christine might break something.
Greg and Jimmy obtain tickets and plan to attend a basketball game in New Orleans over the same weekend as Kim and Christine's grandmother's birthday party; the wives are upset.
Greg's boss invites him and Kim to a charity dinner. Greg is told to bring others for the table. Greg wants he and Kim to charm the boss and his new wife, but it turns out to be Christine that impresses the boss.
Jimmy tells Greg he would not have met Kim if it were not for Jimmy. Flashbacks show how Jimmy and Greg met. While Kim is in college, she met Greg. She and Greg visit Jimmy and Christine.
