  • Koodevide is a malayalam language drama film written and directed by Padmarajan.I am so sad to say that i have'nt heard even a single person talking about it.If not for Padmarajan i would'nt have probably watched the film.I watched the film with little expectations and i was so surprised at how good the film was.I never expected it to be that good. It tells us about the problems that arises when a man(mammootty) suspects the relationship between his lover(suhasini),who is a teacher with her student. It is an excellent drama filled with stellar performances.Mammootty who is too good in pulling out negative characters does the same here again.Rahman shines with his performance as the innocent young boy while Suhasini's performance was top notch as a women struggling between her lover and her student. The soundtrack composed by Johnson like in other Padmarajan movies was fantastic. The script written by Padmrajan was, as always was fantastic filled with a lot of emotions and some memorable characters.Unlike other dramas in the early 80's the incidents happening in the films seems to be reasonable on considering the character of Mammootty. It is one of those films in 80's which should be counted as a classic and undoubtly one of the best directional ventures of the legend Padmarajan.
  • This is a Malayalam language film written and directed by P Padmarajan and starring Mammootty, Suhasini Hassan and Rahman.

The film has a very simple plot: a mischievous student is corrected via a teacher's love. Only to face the ire of her chauvinistic fiancee. The brilliance of a director comes out in the creation of a film from such simple stories. And Padmarajan's work is a treat for the viewer. Supported ably by memorable music. And brilliant performances by the star cast. Mammootty in a negative role is awesome. But the show stealer is Rahman in a genuine, straight-from-the-heart performance. I would say watch Koodevide as his breakthrough role.
  • 'Koodevide' is a brilliant drama that has and still remains a classic in the Malayalam film industry. The plot goes on to show the story taking place between three characters which are played by Mammootty, Suhasini and Rahman. Mammootty plays the role of a chauvinistic Captain who is about to marry Suhasini ; a school teacher. Rahman plays the role of a mischievous student who turns good with the company of Suhasini. The drama later turns serious where suspicion rises in the mind of Mamootty who doubts the relationship between Suhasini and Rahman. The direction is undoubtedly done beautifully by Padmarajan who is still revered as one of the best directors of the Malayalam films. Padmarajan's 'Koodevide' is surely another movie to cherish among the other classics that he has produced.
