Bollywood movies remade in malayalam don't fair too well. This is true for this movie too. The quality of direction is poor and this is reflected in the acting too. Mammootty is a very good actor but even he needs competent directors at the helm. Who can forget Dilip Kumar's 1984 Mashaal and the heart rending scene when he is pleading for help for his wife from passersby. It was a defining moment in Hindi cinema. That and many such key moments were missing. It's like the director relied solely on the plot and overlooked everything else to rush to do the action sequences.
