The inspector's computer indicates Morgan's car as "Vandenplas Princess, year of build 1955". Beside the fact that the car company is written as "Vanden Plas", the model Princess was released in 1960.
While the story clearly is set in Germany, several cars with German names on them don't have German license plates. Instead they all start with NY, which probably supposed to be fake New York license plates.
