Molly Henderson believes she is pregnant. However she doesn't know if the father is her boyfriend or an one-night-stand she had recently. Unsure what to do she turns to church and the Virgin Mary for advice. While there, various options play in her mind.
A short basic story, this cleverly mixes Molly's quandary with little scenes where she imagines what could happen. These scenes include Mary explaining her pregnancy to Joseph by saying an angel did it or her lover slamming the door in her face. Most of these are funny. However there's a lot of religious imagery going on and I felt that there must be a point in that.
The conclusion appears to be pro-religion but pointing out the nature of people. However the rest of it makes fun of the Mary/Joseph story and makes light of pregnancy. So I don't know where it thinks it's coming from, it's not clear
but it's still quite funny.
The character Molly is actually quite unlikable selfish, deceitful and flippant about her baby and relationships. When the film is with her `reality' it's hard to care about her problem it's all of her own making. However when she's in her fantasy skits she's funny and spoofing herself it's a strange mix. Talking of mixes the director does a good job with the different scenes. Each scene uses different film stock and lighting etc, giving each it's own feel and atmosphere.
Overall, this is funny and entertaining enough to cover the weaknesses at a 15 minute running time it's worth a watch once.
