Sex & Nudity

Mild
2 of 3 found this mild
A woman is seen wearing jeans and a bra. Later, her husband kisses her neck and caresses her covered breast. No nudity is seen.
A man and woman are seen dressing after apparently having sex, while her infant waits just outside the door. It is not clear whether or not she is a prostitute - but the man does reveal that he does not know her name. No nudity is seen.
An illicit relationship or, at least, attraction is presented between an adult man (~35-45) and a 15-year-old girl. This is never acted upon in any less-than-innocent way.
A couple of jokes discuss a character's possible cuckoldry.

Violence & Gore

None
1 of 1 found this to have none
The film begins with what appears to be real newsreel footage from the actual Port of Vigo shipyard riots. Police and protestors violently engage each other with tear gas, rocks, fists and feet. Burning barricades are seen, as are unconscious men.
A man aggressively and angrily confronts a banker by whom he feels slighted.

Profanity

Moderate
1 of 1 found this moderate
The film's dialogue is replete with Spanish profanities, which the English subtitles render with high fidelity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Mild
1 of 1 found this mild
A major portion of the film takes place in a bar with characters drinking heavily.
Four men drink hard liquor while one of them is babysitting a toddler.
A marijuana leaf sticker is seen on a teenager's dresser.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

None
1 of 1 found this to have none
There is an extended, highly realistic riot scene in the opening credits (see above).
One scene examines at length the squalid living conditions of a character, who dwells in filth, without running water, heat or food. It is very moving and bleak.
