When Sir Henry Curtis is killed, the spear stands out from his chest. When he falls to the ground and Allan Quatermain leans over him, the spear clearly falls out of the wound. When the camera changes angel, and Quatermain looks up, the spear is back in Sir Henry's chest.
In the establishing shots of London, the time on the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster ("Big Ben") is 12 or 13 minutes to 12. The clock then chimes the half hour.
Umbopa's tunic switches from being open/closed/open between shots when he is confronting Twala.
Quartermain carries and uses a lever action rifle with a tubular magazine (underneath the barrel) throughout the movie but the ammo on his shoulder belt and the cartridge he holds up then drops on the ground for Macabe to find (when he says, "Come to papa") has a pointed bullet. Lever action rifles with a tubular magazine do not fire pointed bullets due to the danger of one bullet point hitting the primer in another in the magazine causing the gun to possibly explode if dropped or bumped. This is the reason such lever action rifles are limited to a select number of calibers that have rounded or flat tipped bullets. Quartermains cartridges look to be .30-'06 or .270 calibers and no lever action rifles with a tubular magazine are made that fire these. The only lever action chambered in these rounds is the Winchester 1895, which has a box magazine just like bolt action rifles.
After the Russians attack Allan Quatermain's empty camp in the desert, McNabb comes riding across the river. In the top right corner you can clearly see part of a white building.
The rifles used by the Russians in the movie are Russian
Mosin-Nagant rifles Model 1930. The very earliest version of that rifle was produced in 1898. King Solomon's mines and Alan Quatermain is set circa 1860. Most of the ammunition carried by the characters is also of obvious current production.
The pistol used by the leader of the Russians in the movie is a 'C96 Broomhandle Mauser'. The very earliest version of that pistol was produced in 1896, hence the '96' in the name. King Solomon's mines and Alan Quatermain is set circa 1860, almost 40 years before the C96 pistol was available.
In one London scene, a street name sign is shown with a numbered postcode (zip code), W14. Numbered postcodes were not introduced in London until the First World War. At the time that the film is set, the code would simply have been 'W'.
When Umbopa tells Gagool that she may sit with him, when the camera pans to the right when Gagool is going to sit, there are 2 plastic transparent bottles of water very prominent visible behind the seat of Umbopa.
About 45 - 60 minutes into the movie, Oombapaa is talking to
Alan Quatermain on a cliff. Oombapaa is standing with his side to the camera. Between his back and the inside of the back of his tunic, you can clearly see the battery pack and cable connection to his microphone pack
About 42 minutes in, when they make camp for the night, just after Miss Maitland tries to pick up a lion cub: shot of night sky showing Ursa Major and Polaris which are not visible from South Africa in the southern hemisphere.
They walk from South-Africa into Africa. Halfway the film they show a ring tailed Lemur in the forest. This is a lemur which only exist on Madagascar, that means they should have passed a sea.
