Out of the series this is the most Japanese looking movie of the bunch. The setting is also different in that it's winter time, and the cars are sometimes driven in the snow covered road.
Reiko Takashima makes her debut in this movie. She's poised to be one of the busiest actor in Japan after this movie.
The movie could have been better if the place in society of the main protagonist was bit more clear. He's actually supposed to be a mechanic for the race team, but it's not clear from the story. What his modus operanda is is also not clear which makes the story hazy.
It's a short story that requires some refinement, but there are three more installments in the series that takes care of those details. Don't miss them.
