Hey Lrm Weekenders, we've hit double-digits! This week we're taking a dive into the odd career of martial artist-action star Steven Seagal, exploring the creations of Hellboy's Mike Mignola, and reaching back to the amazing, epic sci-fi films of the 80s. But first, in our editorial we explain why WB needs to stick a knife between the ribs of the Dceu and dump it into the nearest body of water.

It’s The Televerse’s third birthday, and once again, we’re celebrating with our annual Make-You-Watchathon, where the hosts choose a series to make the other(s) watch. This year, it’s an animation party, with all three Televerse cohosts participating and choosing animated series. First, however, it’s another more relaxed week in TV, as the summer series continue to wind down. We kick things off with the finale of Sytycd and some comedy talk, including the premiere of The League and the return of Gravity Falls, and then take a brief look at some genre (Doctor Who and Outlander) before diving in with the dramas, including the premiere of Boardwalk Empire and the finale of the uneven first season of The Leftovers. Afterward, we kick off the Make-You-Watchathon with Sean’s pick, Samurai Jack, before moving on to Simon’s, Frisky Dingo, and rounding out the segment with Kate’s pick,...

This hardcover collection from Dark Horse is a must own for anyone who "gets" the work of Mike Mignola. His horror sensibilities are channelled through some sources you'd expect, filling his books with monsters, gothic architecture, and Lovecraftian dread. But at the drop of a head he can make you laugh, fill you with wonder or cause you to do that rarest thing of all- stop, and carefully take a second look to make sure you didn't miss anything. More often than not you have and you'll be glad for that second look.
The Amazing Screw-On Head itself is a case in point. How can anything so twonky and fun be so artful and complex. One second Mignola is getting zingers in at the expense of American imperialism and the next he's evoking a sense of steampunk adventure ala the choking dust of archeological ruins, and the best and worst of Victorian vice and virtue.

Apparently, there's some talk around town that ABC may not be picking up any more episodes of the hour-long critically acclaimed series. However, an ABC spokeswoman said that there hasn't been any final decision made so far. ABC executives still love the show and apparently blame the ten month hiatus due to the strike on the struggling numbers this fall. Variety reports that as a result, net may be mulling a plan to extend its options on the show's cast and attempt another relaunch next year. Created by Bryan Fuller ("The Amazing Screw-On Head," "Star Trek: Voyager"), "Daisies" stars Lee Pace, Anna Friel, Chi McBride, Jim Dale, Ellen Greene, Swoosie Kurtz, Kristin Chenoweth and Field Cate.

- Cover to the original one-shot published by Dark Horse Comics Well, surprise!!! Bet you weren't expecting coverage on a property such as "The Amazing Screw-On Head" (read the synopsis below to know more on its plot). That is because this Dark Horse Comic, created by Mr. HellBoy himself, Mike Mignola, is not being made into an indie film on a 500$ budget, but rather it's become an artictistcally faithful animated TV pilot for the Sci-Fi Channel!! "Yuk" you say? Yeah well, that was my knee-jerk reaction as well, but wait dear boy (and girl... and pluralize those if there's more then one of each sex reading this), there's more! Mr. Sideways himself, Paul Giamatti, voices the the man of the same name as the title (aka title role). And, more still, you have to respect the fact that the story line is quite... unusual (which translates here to 1 out 50 people
