    One morning, Chev Chelios, a British assassin working for the West Coast crime syndicate in Los Angeles wakes up and learns Ricky Verona, his arch nemesis and small time thug broke into his apartment whilst he was sleeping and injected him with a poison called The Beijing Cocktail. As Chev sets out to go after Verona and get his revenge, Chev learns from his friend Doc that The Beijing Cocktail will kill him if his heart slows down and he must keep his blood flowing and his heart pumping to stay alive. Going on a rampage across Los Angeles in order to keep his heart pumping, Chev goes after the people responsible. When Verona threatens to kill his dumb girlfriend Eve, Chev sets out to protect her and is forced to tell her the truth that he is not a video game programmer is a killer. With time running out, Chev pays his boss Carlito a visit only to discover Carlito has betrayed him and is working with Ricky Verona and Carlito had Verona poison Chev for eliminating rival crime boss Don Kim and Chev engages Verona and Carlito in a final showdown as Chev won't stop until he has his revenge and The Beijing Cocktail kills him.



    Crank is an action-thriller written by film-makers Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, both of whom also co-directed the movie. A sequel, Crank: High Voltage (2009) was released in 2009.
