I saw this short in the "Masters of Russian Animation" collection.
"King's Sandwich" it's a very funny, clever, and very well animated short, plenty of imaginative sequences and hilarious situations.
Even when the plot basically consists in a very simple entertainment, it is the way in which it was done what makes this so enjoyable and fascinating.
The music, the designs, the atmosphere, every single aspect from this short fits perfectly well with the light-hearted tone of the story. Nothing feels out of place: Even the most extravagant elements included here work incredibly well, as a more than adequate addition to the overall result.
