Quotes7

  • [Apollo and Starbuck prepare to fly a Cylon raider]
  • Captain Apollo: You know how to fly this thing?
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: I thought you did.
  • Lieutenant Sheba: Where in heaven's name are we?
  • Captain Apollo: [climbing into the chair] As high as you can get on the Galactica. We're directly over the main thrusters.
  • [he starts pushing comm buttons]
  • Captain Apollo: It's a great spot to get away from everyone to think.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: A cozy little place like this could be used for more than just thinking.
  • Cassiopeia: [giggles] Starbuck!
  • Cassiopeia: Apollo, what was this bubble used for?
  • Captain Apollo: It's a celestial chamber. The only one left on the Galactica. When the old girl was launched over 500 yahren ago, there were a number of these domes. Back then the, eh, navigators used to come up here and take star sightings, to sort of double-check the navigation computer. I doubt anyone's been here except us in a hundred yahren or more.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: You still don't think that transmission was a lure, do you?
  • Captain Apollo: No. Only now we'll never know. Wilker's lab was destroyed in the battle and the recording with it.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: So you're waiting here for another transmission?
  • Captain Apollo: Yeah. Boomer rigged a gamma signal booster. If anything's out there, I should pick it up.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: [realizing] You... think it came from Earth, don't you?
  • Captain Apollo: I hope it did. Our first contact should be a transmission, something similar to what we saw.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: Just looked like an old spacecraft on a routine run to me.
  • Captain Apollo: [chuckling] Well, what would you expect, a momentous message? No, we'll just pick up routine radio or video scans. Nothing extraordinary... to them, anyway.
  • Captain Apollo: [Apollo, Starbuck and Sheba are exploring the planets of an unknown solar system] The first planet's a giant. 80% compressed hydrogen, 12% helium, no lifeforms. But it sure is pretty.
  • Lieutenant Sheba: So's number two. Beautiful but deadly. The atmosphere is almost totally comprised of compressed carbon dioxide. No lifeforms.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: Well, leave it to me to get the ugly one. No atmosphere, just barren rock. No life could possibly...
  • [computer bleeps]
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: Wait!
  • Captain Apollo: What is it?
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: I'm picking up something. Just rising on the back side of the planet. Oh, no. No!
  • Captain Apollo: Starbuck?
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: Get out of here! It's a Cylon basestar!
  • Cylon scan centurion: [as the Galactica's Viper phalanx enters the solar system] Vipers bearing Omega Seven.
  • First Centurion: Vipers?
  • Cylon scan centurion: Confirmed. Two squadrons.
  • First Centurion: Launch all fighters to intercept. Scan for the Galactica.
  • [as Starbuck plants solonite explosives to the computer banks, a signal blares loudly through the station]
  • Captain Apollo: They must have spotted out vipers.
  • [the First Centurion suddenly enters the computer banks station and is fired on by Apollo]
  • Captain Apollo: [desperately] Let's go!
  • [Starbuck plants the last charge and the two warriors flee with two heavily armed centurions dispatched by the First Centurion in pursuit, but as they climb the scaffolding an object slips out of Apollo's pocket]
  • Captain Apollo: The transmitter!
  • [Starbuck vainly reaches for the falling transmitter]
  • Captain Apollo: Let it go!
  • [the pursuing centurions reach the scaffolding just as the solonite explosives detonate and the computer banks are obliterated, the blast nearly knocking Apollo and Starbuck off the scaffolding as the two centurions are blown to a corner]
  • Captain Apollo: Without that transmitter the squadrons can't tell us from the Cylons!
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: Forget it! We don't need that electronic felgercarb! We'll think of something!
  • Captain Apollo: The Galactica should be attacking any micron.
  • Lieutenant Starbuck: Well then what are we waiting for?
  • Lieutenant Sheba: Ever since you've lost Serina, you've taken every high-risk mission on the board.
  • Captain Apollo: Serina has nothing to do with it.
  • Lieutenant Sheba: She was a very lovely woman, Apollo... but she's dead.
  • Captain Apollo: Can we just drop this?
  • Lieutenant Sheba: No, we can't just drop it. What do you think? You have the corner on loneliness here?
  • Captain Apollo: I'm... I'm sorry.
  • Lieutenant Sheba: [tearfully] It's all right. I guess we have kind of been at each other's throats ever since the moment we met.
  • Captain Apollo: Yeah, I guess we have.
  • Lieutenant Sheba: Except for lately. You've kind of included me in your... tight little circle of friends... and I appreciate that, Apollo.
  • Captain Apollo: [looking down] Yeah, well, uhm... I realized I'd been a little hard on you.
  • Lieutenant Sheba: Did you ever think about the fact that... maybe two people who snap at each other for no reason, are doing it to avoid their real feelings?
  • [her hand guides his face towards her]
  • Lieutenant Sheba: I've thought about it quite a bit.
  • [she kisses him]
  • Lieutenant Sheba: Be careful.
