Yvette Freeman in ER (1994)

Trivia

Good Luck, Ruth Johnson

ER

Edit
This episode - in which the hospital celebrates the fact it is 100 years old - was devised to mark the 100th episode.
In the beginning of the episode a drunk man sings 100 bottles of beer on the wall, always going back to 100. This is another way the show marks the 100th episode of the series.
This episode marks Yvette Freeman's (Nurse Haleh) return to the show after an extended absence. She left the show to star in the Fred Savage sitcom "Working" and returned to ER after the comedy was cancelled.
In 1998 (the year this episode was filmed) Illinois had no minimum age for prosecuting a minor as an adult, it was taken on a case-by-case basis. However in 2014 raised the age for juvenile jurisdiction for most felonies to age 17, meaning minors under the age of 17 are tried in juvenile court for most felonies, and a child under the age of 10 cannot be held in jail. It is different for murder however, in Illinois a minor as young as 13 can potentially be tried as an adult for murder, however this is extremely rare; and a child of any age can be charged with murder, but this is also extremely rare. Only one instance in recent history of a minor under the age of 10 being charged with murder has occurred in Illinois; on October 9, 2019 a 9-year old boy from Goodfield, Illinois was charged with two counts of arson in the first degree, one count of aggravated arson and five counts of murder in the first degree. The boy was accused of intentionally setting a fire in a mobile home park that killed three children, a 1-year old and two 2-year old's, and two adults, a 35-year old man and a 69-year old woman. Court records for minors are sealed so the outcome of the trial is not known, if convicted the boy would face a minimum sentence of five-years probation to a maximum of being on probation until his 21st birthday, he would also be sentenced to mandatory therapy.
Actors Xander Berkeley and Jenette Goldstein - who portrayed John Connor's foster parents in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) - both appear in this episode.
